Phakic IOL

Phakic IOLs

Phakic Intraocular Lenses (Phakic IOL) are designed for moderate to severe nearsighted patients that might not be a candidate for laser vision correction due to their high prescription.  Unlike LASIK, there are no lasers needed.  In Phakic IOL surgery, an artificial lens is implanted behind the cornea or in front of the natural lens of the eye. Your natural lens is left untouched and is not removed like cataract surgery. Phakic IOLs are designed to remain in the eye permanently. If needed, these lenses can be removed.

To find out if Phakic IOL is the right choice for you, call to schedule an appointment with Dr. Boghossian.
