Visual needs of people are as different as their fingerprints and no two eyes are the same. That’s why the very best centers utilize more than one laser system to treat every patient since each laser has its own unique advantage.  Having access to multiple lasers allows for a completely customizable treatment that will give you the best results possible.

At Boghossian Vision, we use several different laser systems including wavefront-optimized, wavefront guided and all-laser LASIK.   During your evaluation, Dr. Boghossian will determine which one is the right laser for you and your vision.

Intralase FS

The Intralase FS laser system is a computer controlled fully customizable femtosecond laser used to create the corneal flap in the LASIK procedure.  The system works by delivering rapid painless pulses of light that create microscope bubbles that come together to form the LASIK flap.  The Intralase laser provides for a safer and more precise way of making the corneal flap compared to the older bladed cutting system.  It is the system trusted by more LASIK surgeons than any other femtosecond system.

Wavelight EX-500 Excimer Laser

EX500Built on trusted WaveLight excimer technology, the WaveLight EX500 Excimer Laser is the next leap forward in fast, accurate refractive laser treatments. The WaveLight Refractive Suite is the fastest refractive surgery platform available in the U.S.  The WaveLight EX500 Excimer Laser is the only excimer laser to operate at 500 Hz, with an average treatment time of approximately 1.4 seconds per diopter.

Wavelight Eye-Q Excimer Laser

Wavelight Eye-Q is the upgraded version of the Wavelight Allegretto Wave system.  It is one of the fastest lasers in the world, making your treatment duration only a few seconds long.  It’s unique Perfect Pulse Technology and NeuroTrack System ensures that every laser pulse is spaced exactly in the desired location for the most precise treatment possible. The Eye-Q also features the Custom Q technology, which is the first treatment system that maintains the natural curvature of the cornea for better overall quality of vision especially at nights.

VISX Star S4 IR Excimer Laser

The VISX STAR S4 IR excimer laser is designed to provide custom or wavefront guided vision correction.  It utilizes CustomVue Wavefront technology to measure the unique imperfections of each eye, including both lower order aberrations and higher order aberrations, for a true customized laser vision correction that is unique to your vision.  The VISX system features Variable Spot Scanning (VSS) technology, Variable Repetitive Rate (VRR) algorithm, and an automatic Iris Registration (IR) to take full advantage of it’s wavefront custom treatment potential to give you the best vision possible.

Oculus Pentacam

The Oculus Pentacam is an advanced diagnostic scan used for laser vision correction screening.  This sophisticated imaging system takes multiple cross sectional images of the eye to generate a 3-D model of the cornea.  The Pentacam provides the surgeon with information about the eye that would not have been possible with older LASIK screening technology.  This allows for the best possible way to determine a patient’s candidacy and overall success of laser vision correction.

Zeiss Atlas 9000

The Zeiss Atlas uses the proven Placido Disk Technology to measure the curvature of the cornea to help assess the overall shape and type of astigmatism important in laser vision screening.  This latest version of the Atlas, takes 15 digital images per second for the highest quality imaging, and proves corneal wavefront anlysis using ray tracing technology to provide valuable insight for patient treatment plan.  It also provides antomatic pupillomtry to measure the pupil size at different illuminations to assess optical zones under different light conditions.
