About Dr. Burton

Dr. Maggie Burton, O.D., FAAO was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2013, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2017.

 

Dr. Burton completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the VA Illiana Health Care System, where she gained extensive experience managing complex ocular and systemic conditions. She continued her work at the VA following residency, providing care for veterans and mentoring optometry students as an externship coordinator.

 

At Boghossian Vision, Dr. Burton provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric exams, dry eye management, and specialty contact lens fittings such as scleral and orthokeratology (CRT) lenses. She also offers myopia management programs incorporating CRT, atropine therapy, and multifocal soft lenses.

 

Dr. Burton is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and an active member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. She currently serves as President of the Alameda and Contra Costa Counties Optometric Society and was honored as the Alameda/Contra Costa County Optometric Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year.
